TK Maxx sets opening date for first Australian flagship

TK Maxx will open its first Australian flagship in Melbourne CBD on October 16. The two-storey store will feature apparel, homewares and beauty, expanding the off-price retailer’s growing national footprint.



Kitchen Things collapses, receivers appointed

Kitchen Things has entered receivership, closing all 12 company-owned stores in New Zealand. Weakened demand, rising competition and margin pressure drove the collapse, with receivers seeking buyers to revive operations and assets.



Australia Post halts most parcel postage to US as tariff chaos hits global carriers

Australia Post has immediately suspended most postage to the US, with only the delivery of letters, documents and gifts worth less than $150 continuing. It has taken the step to halt many forms of postage to the US, as a Trump administration tariff on low-value parcels is due to come into effect within days. 



Collapsed Mosaic Brands fined $25 million for online shopping failures

The federal court found that the company breached the consumer law after failing to deliver 739,114 items across its nine brands within the time specified on its websites. Among these products, 4213 were not delivered at all.

Hallenstein Glasson delivered stronger-than-expected sales, offering optimism for retail amid challenging conditions, while state-owned farmer Pāmu announced a bold target of $100m profit by 2030, signalling confidence in its long-term growth.



New Zealand's favourite retail brands revealed

Consumer NZ’s survey shows shoppers are highly price-sensitive, with discounts driving most purchases. Top-rated retailers included Macpac, Stihl Shop, PB Tech and 100% Appliances, while Rebel Sport, The Warehouse, Spark and One NZ underperformed.
