Harvey Norman and Latitude Financial Services will both appeal a Federal Court ruling against the pair, which found both guilty of misleading consumers for advertising a 60-month interest-free and no deposit payment methods that in fact required consumers to take out a credit card to purchase the goods.
The staying power of online shopping
Shoppers spent $1.5 billion on online physical goods in the third quarter of 2024 (Q3 2024), up 1% from the same period last year (Q3 2023). This growth was driven by an 8% increase in the number of online transactions and offset by a 6% decrease in the average amount spent on each transaction.
