Introducing the newest RX’er, Kim Gillis

Joining as our Project Manager – Marketing & Retail Operations, Kim brings more than two decades of retail leadership under her belt and a reputation for driving performance through people, process, and practical insight. She’s led large store networks, coached frontline teams, and delivered operational change for some of New Zealand’s most well-known retail brands.

Kim brings a deep understanding of how things really work on the ground, and how to make them work better. Her strength lies in identifying what’s holding a business back and helping teams unlock meaningful, lasting improvement.

Straight-talking, experienced, and solutions-focused, Kim is already adding value to our clients and our team. We’re thrilled to have her on board.

What inspires you?

Having a problem to solve!  It’s a big part of what drives me both personally and professionally. Whether it’s rethinking how a space functions, streamlining a process, or figuring out how to repair something, I enjoy the challenge of making things more efficient and effective.

By people who turn their passions into success, building something meaningful through drive and determination, as well as those who’ve overcome life’s challenges and come out stronger on the other side.

Favourite store/customer experience?

Kowtow for their customer experience and commitment to circular fashion. From the personal note included with your order to their repair tip video tutorials and resale options, they make sustainability feel personal and practical.

Favourite way to recharge outside of work?

Spending time in nature is my go-to.  A long walk on the beach, a swim, a hike, or a spin on my mountain bike.

Favourite food?

Italian!  I lived in Sardinia for a year and fell in love with the fresh, seasonal dishes and traditional recipes.

Favourite movie?

It’s tough to pick just one favourite. I’m all about getting lost in a good story.

Favourite retail quote?

I have a couple of favourites:

"Retail is a customer business. You’re trying to take care of the customer, solve something for the customer. And there’s no way to learn that in the classroom or in the corner office or away from the customer. You’ve got to be in front of the customer.” - Erik Nordstrom CEO, Nordstrom Direct

"If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten." - Tony Robbins

Everything is figureoutable.” - Marie Forleo-Motivational speaker, life coach, and author
